The term Web 2.0 is used to describe a certain change in using applications on the Internet in the last couple of years. Most Web 2.0 applications, in contrast to more traditional applications such as Homepages, rely heavily on getting users involved in creating content, to form social networks or to classify and manage information.

In this unit you will learn what the Term 'Web 2.0' is all about, get a first impression on a number of Web 2.0 applications, learn how to get additional information on applications you are interested in.
